MODEL REFERENCE · INDEPENDENT, NOT MANUFACTURER-AFFILIATED

Auto-Photo Studio. Model 20.

A practical identification reference rooted in our actual restoration project—not a promise that every Model 20 is the same.

What we can say.

Our machine's plate identifies it as an Auto-Photo Studio Model 20. The supplied interior photographs also show the surviving analog camera, round paper magazine, processing tanks, carrier mechanism and delivery system.

The Model 20 is associated with the 1960s–1970s era. We have not verified this unit's exact manufacturing year, and a serial number is not a date code. Later payment equipment does not date the original cabinet.

What remains a question.

Visible machinery supports identification, but not complete mechanical condition or reliable photographic operation. Long storage, deposits, wear and later payment/start modifications all need careful assessment.

The cut mains cord, readiness controls and bill-validator retrofit are parts of our project record—not evidence that replacing one part makes a booth ready for a public venue. Electrical and flash work calls for qualified hands.

Buying one? Ask for evidence, not a glow.

Document what is included, what is missing, access for removal, service history and any recent successful strips. If it has not been tested, keep “untested” in the description. Don't switch it on simply to strengthen a sale listing.

Useful references.

We use historic manufacturer names for identification only. The Booth Goose is independent and is not affiliated with Auto-Photo, Photo-Me or their successors.

The library's shared black-and-white reference is a Model 17 edition offered as useful for Model 20 systems—not a verified exact manual for every configuration.

LET'S TAKE A LOOK

Got a Model 20—or something quite like it?

Working or not, start with its location and what you know. Photos help, an asking price is optional, and there's no pressure to sell.
